Learn To Kayak
We offer Paddle Canada certification courses for beginners to advanced paddlers. Learn more about paddling techniques, rescues, tides and currents to improve your kayaking skills.
Flat Water Course:
This course introduces the novice to kayaking in calm sheltered water. Rescue techniques at this level incorporate the use of a paddling partner and it is essential for all Flat Water certified paddlers to travel on the water with others who have been trained in the techniques of assisted rescues.

Paddle Canada Level 1 Course:
This course provides the skills and knowledge for day long sea kayaking trips in sheltered waters and rural shorelines. Learn more about tides, currents and being able to plan your own trip. Kayaking skills such as towing and unassisted re-entries will be covered. Successful completion of Level 1 indicates competence to paddle a sea kayak within a sheltered bay in the company of one or more paddlers with Level 1 or greater skill and knowledge.
Course Length: approx 12hrs, (2 days) $299
Prerequisites: Flatwater Skills certification or equivalent skill and knowledge.
Paddle Canada Level 2 Course:
Provides the skills and knowledge for proficient kayaking in moderate conditions, on overnight trips along a moderately exposed shore with frequent easy landing opportunities. Activities focus on the practical skills for overnight trips. Well-developed skills such as a strong forward stroke, effective bracing, maneuvering in waves and current, rescue skills including rolling and towing are necessary.
Course Length: 4 days including 1 overnight, $649
Prerequisites: Paddle Canada Level 1 skills or equivalent skill and knowledge.
