We offer Paddle Canada certification courses for beginners to advanced paddlers. Learn more about paddling techniques, rescues, tides and currents to improve your kayaking skills.
Flat Water Course:
This course introduces the novice to kayaking in calm sheltered water. Rescue techniques at this level incorporate the use of a paddling partner and it is essential for all Flat Water certified paddlers to travel on the water with others who have been trained in the techniques of assisted rescues.
Course Length: 8 hours minimum, (1 day) $149.00 +GST
Level 1 Course:
This course provides the skills and knowledge for day long sea kayaking trips in sheltered waters and rural shorelines. Learn more about tides, currents and being able to plan your own trip. Kayaking skills such as towing and unassisted re-entries will be covered. Successful completion of Level 1 indicates competence to paddle a sea kayak within a sheltered bay in the company of one or more paddlers with Level 1 or greater skill and knowledge.
Course Length: 15 hour minimum, (2 day) $249 + GST
Level 1 Student Hand Book
Students can purchase this booklet before the course to familiarize themselves with new terms and concepts that will be presented during the course. There is a lot of information to cover in two days and the hand book helps students to prepare.
